🥯 Fluffy Condensed Milk Bread
Why You’ll Love It
This bread is unbelievably soft and pillowy, with a delicate sweetness from condensed milk. It’s easy to make, smells heavenly while baking, and stays moist for days!
🧈 Ingredients
For the Dough:
3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
2¼ tsp (7g) instant yeast
½ cup (120ml) warm milk (about 100°F / 38°C)
1 large egg, room temperature
¼ cup (80g) sweetened condensed milk
3 tbsp (40g) unsalted butter, softened
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
For Brushing:
1 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp condensed milk
🥣 Instructions
1. Activate Yeast (if needed)
If using active dry yeast, dissolve it in the warm milk with 1 tbsp sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
(Skip this step if using instant yeast.)
2. Make the Dough
In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
Add the egg, warm milk, and condensed milk. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
Add the softened butter and knead until smooth and elastic — about 10 minutes by hand or 5–6 minutes in a stand mixer.
👉 The dough should be soft and slightly tacky, but not sticking to your hands.
3. First Rise
Place dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
4. Shape the Bread
Punch down the dough to release air.
Divide into 3–4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a smooth ball or long rope and arrange in a greased loaf pan (or shape into rolls).
5. Second Rise
Cover again and let rise for 30–45 minutes, or until puffy and nearly doubled.
6. Bake
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
7. Finish
While still warm, brush the top with a mixture of melted butter and condensed milk for a shiny, sweet glaze.
💡 Pro Tips
For extra richness, replace half the milk with heavy cream.
Brush again with butter after baking to keep the crust soft.
You can add shredded coconut, chocolate chips, or raisins for variation.
