Ingredients
For the cake:
1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
1 box instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz)
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup brown sugar, packed
2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup water
¾ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup white wine (any inexpensive one works)
4 large eggs
For the glaze:
1 stick (½ cup) butter
1 cup granulated sugar
¼ cup white wine
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat and prepare the pan
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Generously grease and flour a Bundt pan (or use nonstick spray with flour).
2. Mix the batter
In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, both sugars, and cinnamon.
Add water, oil, wine, and eggs.
Beat with an electric mixer for about 2–3 minutes, until smooth and creamy.
3. Bake
Pour batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then poke small holes all over the cake with a skewer or fork.
4. Make the glaze
In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
Add sugar and wine, and bring to a gentle boil for about 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract.
5. Glaze the cake
Slowly pour the warm glaze over the cake while it’s still in the pan, letting it soak in.
After about 15 minutes, invert the cake onto a serving plate and drizzle any remaining glaze on top.
Tips
You can replace white wine with apple juice for a non-alcoholic version.
Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
