1 lb ground beef
8 oz lo mein noodles (or spaghetti)
1 tbsp sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, sliced
1 cup shredded carrots
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
2 cups cabbage, shredded (optional)
3 green onions, sliced
Sauce
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp sesame oil
½ tsp ground ginger
½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
Cook the noodles:
Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain, rinse with cold water, and set aside.
Brown the beef:
In a large skillet or wok, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add vegetables:
Add sesame oil, garlic, onion, carrots, and bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp. Add cabbage if using.
Make the sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
Combine everything:
Add cooked noodles and sauce to the skillet. Toss well to coat. Stir-fry 2–3 minutes until everything is hot and evenly mixed.
Garnish & serve:
Sprinkle with green onions and serve immediately.
Tips
Add mushrooms, broccoli, or snap peas for extra veggies.
Use low-sodium soy sauce if you prefer a lighter salt flavor.
Great leftover — the flavors deepen overnight!
