½ lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (divided)
2 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup chicken broth (or more cream if you like it richer)
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Parsley or green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Cook Pasta
Boil pasta in salted water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Cook the Sausage
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add sliced sausage and sauté until browned. Remove and set aside.
Cook the Shrimp
Season shrimp with 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning.
In the same skillet, add shrimp and cook for about 1–2 minutes per side, until pink. Remove and set aside.
Sauté Veggies
In the same pan, melt butter. Add garlic, onion, and bell peppers.
Cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
Make the Cream Sauce
Stir in the remaining Cajun seasoning, heavy cream, and chicken broth.
Simmer for 3–4 minutes, until slightly thickened.
Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
Combine Everything
Add cooked pasta, sausage, and shrimp back into the pan.
Toss to coat in sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
Serve
Garnish with parsley or green onions and extra Parmesan if desired.
💡 Tips
For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes.
Substitute half-and-half for a lighter version.
Try using linguine or rotini to hold more sauce.
