🦀 Ingredients:
8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
6 oz (170 g) imitation crab meat, finely chopped (or real crab if preferred)
2 green onions, thinly sliced (optional but adds flavor)
1 tsp soy sauce
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp salt (optional)
20–24 wonton wrappers
Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
🥣 Instructions:
Make the filling:
In a medium bowl, mix together cream cheese, chopped crab, green onions, soy sauce, and garlic powder until smooth and creamy.
Assemble rangoons:
Lay out a wonton wrapper.
Place about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center.
Brush the edges lightly with water.
Fold into a triangle (or pinch all corners together to make a “purse”).
Press edges firmly to seal so filling doesn’t leak out.
Heat oil:
In a deep skillet or pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry:
Fry rangoons in small batches for 2–3 minutes, turning halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
Drain:
Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
